£30m deal for Chelsea unwanted striker might actually happen

£30m deal for an unwanted striker could actually happen; Find out

Things are getting better and better for Romelu Lukaku at Roma.

He’s had a steady start to the season, much unlike his extended troubles starting last season for Inter Milan, and while Jose Mourinho’s team are still struggling for consistency, they look to at least be building up some momentum.

There are rumours doing the rounds today that Roma want to sign the Belgian striker permanently next summer, and that their sporting director has negotiated a £30m buyout clause in the player’s loan deal.

At this stage, £30m seems like a fairly sensible price. We’re just looking to get him off the books while minimising a huge loss on the £100m-odd that we paid for him. Roma will likely consider it a good price for a marquee player, and both parties can finally move on from a catastrophic re-marriage between Lukaku and Chelsea.

There is plenty of season left though – let’s hope he keeps up his scoring.
