Agbonlahor slams Mason Mount again for his first wrong decision at Manchester United

wrong decision: Agbonlahor slams Mason Mount again for his first wrong decision at Manchester United

Gabby Agbonlahor has torn into Mason Mount for his decision to take up the number seven shirt after he joined Manchester United over the summer.

The former Chelsea player moved to Erik ten Hag’s side for a fee of around £60m, and has since found that life’s a lot more complex that it sometimes seems.

Mount has not made a single goal contribution for United since he joined them, despite playing six matches for them across all competitions.

Agbonlahor believes that one of the 24-year-old’s problems since his United transfer is his decision to take the number seven jersey, which was previously worn by club legends like David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Speaking on talkSPORT, the ex-Aston Villa striker said: “I don’t know why he took that number. Of course it does [add to the pressure]. That’s David Beckham’s.

“I just don’t know why he took that and I just look at that Manchester United team and is Mason Mount the answer? No.”
