Benoit Badiashile sends brief message to Chelsea fans following victory over Brighton

Chelsea secured a vital three points on Sunday by beating rivals Brighton.

Chelsea beat Brighton 3-2 at Stamford Bridge today in the Premier League, but they certainly did it the hard way after Conor Gallagher’s red card on the stroke of half-time.

The Blues continued this up and down season they’re on by digging in to record a much-needed win this weekend.

Enzo Fernandez scored twice for the hosts, his first ever goals in the Premier League. Levi Colwill also netted against the team he previously spent time with on loan.

Speaking via Sky Sports in his post-match press conference, Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino said he wants his side to use Sunday’s victory as a confidence builder.

Benoit Badiashile addresses Chelsea fans

Blues centre-half Benoit Badiashile, 22, played and starred in the Brighton result.

The Frenchman sent a message on social media directly to the club’s supporters this evening.

Badiashile wrote on his Instagram story: “Amazing support. Thank you Blues.”

Chelsea defender silences any critics

There was some fairly strong criticism towards Badiashile after Chelsea were beaten in Newcastle. In fairness, the left-footed defender had a tough return to the XI at St James’ Park.

However, people were quick to forget he’s not played a lot of football in recent months due to injury.

It was a timely reminder against Brighton just how good he can be.

We suspect the partnership alongside Thiago Silva in the heart of defence will continue to get stronger as he keeps getting more match fitness.

Badiashile was one of the few shining lights in a poor 2022/23 season. We’ve got very high hopes for him moving forward and think the best is yet to come.
