Chelsea make £70m transfer offer for a striker after Mauricio Pochettino request.

Chelsea have reportedly made a £70m offer for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, as they look to sign a new striker this summer for incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino’s biggest area of concern is up front, with Kai Havertz operating as Chelsea’s frontman for the majority of the 2022-23 season.

Despite Havertz’s talent, playing up top does not come naturally to him. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was hoped to provide regular goals following a deadline-day move from Barcelona last summer, but the former Arsenal captain has flopped at Stamford Bridge and is set to leave.

Chelsea still have Romelu Lukaku on their books, but neither the club nor the player are keen for a reunion this summer, with the Belgian hoping to stay at Inter Milan.

According to ESPN, the Premier League club has already made an offer of approximately £70m to Juventus for the 23-year-old Serbian international.

Vlahovic has three years remaining on his current contract with Juventus, but he is said to be keen on a move away from the club. He has scored 10 league goals this season and has also attracted interest from Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
