Chelsea player ratings as Enzo Fernandez excellent display ensure victory but Gallagher
The player ratings from Chelsea versus Brighton as the Blues beat Brighton at Stamford Bridge after two goals from Enzo Fernandez and one from Levi Colwill in west London
Robert Sanchez – Didn’t have too much to do. Couldn’t really do anything about either of the Brighton goals. 6.
Axel Disasi – Looked solid without being exceptional. Having him at right-back, you’re always pretty certain for a solid defensive display but his attacking abilities are somewhat limited. 6.
Thiago Silva – Certainly an improvement from last weekend’s shambles. Looked confident and assured. An exceptional tackle inside the box on Kaoru Mitoma in the second half. 6.
Benoit Badiashile – Did really well early on to deny Evan Ferguson inside the box. Looked calm and assured. Did really well for Enzo Fernandez’s goal, too. 7.
Levi Colwill – Great for him to get his first Premier League goal for Chelsea. A really solid performance. Defended very well at left-back to limit the threat from Brighton. 7.
Conor Gallagher – Got sent off before half-time so his rating has to be very low. Silly from the temporary captain. 3.
Moises Caicedo – Looked solid against his former club. Did well in the second-half for 10 man Chelsea. Picks up a silly yellow card at the start of the second period. 6.
Enzo Fernandez – A fantastic moment to get his first league goal for the Blues. Looked a lot better than in recent games. Added to his tally in the second half, too, with a cool penalty. 8.
Raheem Sterling – Bit quiet. Needs to do more to have the same impact as he had done in recent games. 6.
Mykhailo Mudryk – Also quiet. Has a positive run and decent effort at goal in the first period but struggled to get into the game. Won the penalty in the second half. 6.
Nicolas Jackson – Did really well for Colwill’s goal. Headed it into the danger area and it was an easy task for Colwill from then on. Apart from that, he was fairly quiet. 6.
Substitutions
Cole Palmer – Didn’t have too much time to show his brilliance. Decent cameo, though. 6.
Ian Maatsen – Did well to help see the game out. 6.
Armando Broja – N/A.
