Latest rumor suggests that a €35m signing on a lengthy contract is already seeking to leave Chelsea; Details
When Chelsea signed Noni Madueke last January, we were a little surprised. We had needs in a few positions, but winger wasn’t one of them.
Given we signed Mykhailo Mudryk at the same time, it seemed like overkill. As it stands, neither of them are first choice, but at least Mudryk plays semi regularly and gets minutes off the bench.
Madueke is totally out of the picture now, and we’re not surprised to see rumours on TeamTalk that the club are willing to listen to loan or transfer offers for him as soon as next month. He wants game time, and Chelsea don’t want a depreciating asset on their bench.
We’re not sure we really believe this particular rumour – it seems like more of a case of educated guesswork. If things continue as they are, an exit for Madueke looks inevitable. But as it stands, we’d struggle to recoup even half the €35m we paid for him less than a year ago.
Let’s not forget that Madueke is one of those players on an exceptionally long deal. It hasn’t taken long to figure out why other teams aren’t doing that.
