Mauricio Pochettino addresses social media criticism
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he often receives criticism on social media and in the mainstream media.
It’s part and parcel of managing a big club like Chelsea of course, but since the times of social media growing and taking over, things like this have all been completely elevated and it is something else that players and managers have to put up with at the top.
Pochettino was speaking about it in his pre-match press conference for the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford this evening. This section was embargoed and came out a bit later in the day -10pm on Tuesday night.
Pochettino was speaking about the culture at Chelsea and various other things around the club. Then, as cited by The Telegraph, Pochettino added a bit on the criticism he has been getting online and offline.
“I receive criticism in social media, the media, through my emails, through direct messages and calls – come on! We are the first to feel that, but you cannot pay attention to this.”
He’s right there as well, the best thing to do is completely switch off from it and not read any of it. But sometimes that is also very difficult to do.
