Pochettino eagerly anticipates to witnessing the exceptional Premier League goal scorer from Manchester United

Chelsea catch Manchester United at a good time for the Blues it seems.

United aren’t in terrible form, but there’s a sort of existential crisis going on at Old Trafford, the players seem on the verge of downing tools and giving up on Erik Ten Hag, while the team is totally devoid of any shape or purpose.

There’s one man who isn’t struggling with the rest however. Recent games have seen Alejandro Garnacho establish himself as a true star in this side, and his bicycle kick against Everton will go down as one of the great all time goals from the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino was asked about his thoughts on the talent, who also shares his Argentine heritage, and revealed he was aware of him before he was even on Man U’s radar, in quotes picked up by the Evening Standard:

“He is an exciting player, young and talented. It’s not surprising to us because we knew about him when he was in Spain before moving to Manchester. It’s good to see a young player being brave and showing the talent that he is showing.

“He is Argentinian and Spanish. He is the opposite of me because I am Argentinian-Spanish; he is Spanish-Argentinian.

“It’s exciting because it’s good to have these type of players for the national team and I’m excited to see him on the pitch.”

Let’s hope we can reduce him to a quiet game tonight. United are struggling, and if we can shackle Garnacho, we’ll be just fine.
