Pochettino kept his promise after Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat to Newcastle
Mauricio Pochettino kept his word, and hauled his Chelsea stars back into training on Sunday morning, following their 4-1 loss to Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Argentine had promised to punish the players, who failed to turn up during the clash at St. James Park by cancelling their usual day off, which should have been today.
According to The Sun, the players were at Cobham on Sunday morning, with Pochettino ready to give them a much-needed mental reset.
The gaffer had said on Saturday: “It was our worst game of the season.
“It was tough to be in the stands [for three yellow cards this season].
“We cannot complain about the result, we did not read the game from the beginning.”
