Two things Arsenal must do to defeat Man City at Etihad

Manchester City will on Wednesday host Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in what is tagged a title decider clash between the first and second place teams.

The game is a must win for the Gunners if they want want to stay in the title race, as anything less than the whole three points will possibly end the EPL title race in favour of Manchester City.

Arsenal played a 3-3 draw at home with Southampton on Friday night at Emirates Stadium dropping crucial two points. The result put Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City who have two games in hand.

After the Gunners brilliant start in the EPL, Arsenal are now finding it difficult to win matches against any opponent.

An unexpected draw to bottom-of-the-table Southampton last night put their chance of winning the League they last won 19 years ago at risk.

However, they’ve gone ten games unbeaten in the league – winning seven of them and three consecutive draws against Liverpool, West Ham United and Southampton.

Manchester City are five behind Arsenal with two games in hand over the Premier League leaders as they battle at Etihad in a crucial title decider clash.

Should City win at Etihad and reduce the gap to points, the possibility of winning the 2022/2023 EPL title for a third consecutive years is very high given their two games in hand.

However, The Gunners can reshape their season with a win and extend the gap to eight points, as they faces a tough battle in the Premier League on Wednesday against City at Etihad Stadium

Here are two things that could break Arsenal 19 years EPL deadlock when they face City on Wednesday at Etihad

Focus and attack from start

Arsenal should remain focused and believe they are capable of beating Manchester City. The game should be approached with a positive mindset of ‘we can’t’. Having not won or drawn any match at the Etihad since 2015 should not generate negative energy. Arsenal should plan to rewrite these Etihad records on Wednesday.

Arteta men should approach the game with their attacking style of play and put pressure on the City’s defence if they really need victory. So, the Gunners should not sit back because it is dangerous.

Erling Haaland

Arsenal focus must be on all Manchester City players, not only on Erling Haaland. The Gunners should avoid the mistake of paying attention to only Haaland but have a game plan on how to stop the City’s midfield to frustrate Haaland. De Bruyne, Rodri, Jack Grealish and others should not be allowed to dictate the game. If Arsenal can stop the midfield flow, City is vulnerable to a defeat on Wednesday.
