Noni Madueke has now claimed on Instagram that he is much quicker than Chelsea teammate Raheem Sterling.

The 21-year-old has endured a stop-start beginning to his career at Stamford Bridge after making the switch from PSV in January.

He is yet to score for his new club, although this can be put down to an extremely limited run of gametime.

Madueke has not featured at all since Frank Lampard arrived as temporary manager, sometimes even being victim of the bloated squad and not making the bench.

While the England U21 star has been struggling for minutes, Sterling has been an important figure for Lampard since he returned from injury.

Despite the interim boss claiming he is going to be an important figure in the run-in for the rest of the season, supporters have perhaps not been as convinced.

He was notably jeered when he was replaced in the last Premier League game against Brighton, after consecutive ineffective performances up front for the side.

While things on the pitch have been going from bad to worse in recent weeks, at least the vibe looks good in the camp, as Madueke and Sterling have engaged in banter on social media.

It will be interesting to see which players in the squad are utilised for the remaining games of the season, which holds very little impact after being eliminated in the Champions League.

It would make sense for some of the younger, promising players to be given opportunities to impress the potential new manager, which at this stage looks set to be Mauricio Pochettino.
