Xavi Blocks Barcelona From Signing Chelsea Super Star Due To Unstoppable Decline

Barcelona management attempt to sign Chelsea star has been blocked by the club manager Xavi Hernandez

The Catalonia are set to win the La Liga title they last won four years ago, but their poor performance in 2022/23 European campaign called for reinforcements ahead of next season.

This is easier said than done due to the Blaugrana financial problem which put the club in Financial Fair Play trouble, this denied them the ability to sign or register any player unless that is resolved.

The club believe selling some players and reduction of salary can help resolve the financial problem and convince Tebas and the Spanish management to soft-pedal.

According to Gerard Romero, the action is for the return of Lionel Messi to the Camp Nou after is contract with PSG expires on June 30. The report claimed four players could join and sale two crucial players from the current squad to finance it

Joao Felix could have been a major target for the Catania. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed him interest in the Portuguese forward.

It would have been easy to sign Felix due to his agent Jorge Mendes close relationship with Laporta if the club can meet Atletico Madrid price tag.

However, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez according to El Nacional has stepped in to block the transfer which would have cost more than €100. Xavi is of the opinion Felix is on an unstoppable decline with is poor performance at La Liga and EPL.
